I have lived in the South my entire life. There are many good things about the South. Many wonderful writers have come from this part of the country. I believe Southerners invented sweet tea, which DH adores.
However, the South is lacking when it comes to seasons. We really don't have a wide variety compared to the Northern states. Which is why, for this week's picture, I will show you my snowman from when I was 4:
I was at my aunt's house for a wedding when it snowed. I had never seen snow before. Do you notice how the yard is scraped clean of snow so that I could have enough snow for my snowman? I was desperate, y'all. Try as I might, I couldn't get a tall snowman. I settled for a 2-story snowman instead of the traditional 3-layer. In my excitement, I didn't even think to dress my snowman. Poor naked, deformed thing. I didn't see snow again for many years...

awww! at least you tried though =)
ReplyDeleteOh, as a native Southerner myself, I completely understand. We scraped every smidgen of snow off the car bumpers and swing sets in desperate attempts to make a snowman...once every 12 years or so when white stuff actually fell from the sky.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your photo.
I am from Ohio so we had lots of snow! But we live in the south now and my kids hardly ever see it!
ReplyDeleteI also can completely relate to this! I remember doing this once as a child with a rare 'snow storm!'
ReplyDeleteAw, that's sad. You did the best you could though.
ReplyDeletePlenty of snow where I live.
Yep. The blizzard of '93--18 inches in Rome where we were--is more snow than I've ever seen in my whole life. Put together ;)
ReplyDeleteAwww atleast you got to make a snowbaby!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou get an A for effort... I guess I take our snowmen for granted here in the mideast!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever gotten to make a snowman that did not have leaves in it. :)
ReplyDeleteI have several southern winter photos just like this! You learn to work with what you have--you obviously were a very resourceful child, much like I was, to scrape all that snow together.
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine! We've already had snow this year anmd our last snowfall from LAST winter was in June.
ReplyDeleteCute pic, though!!
Awww....that is the cutest thing! I think it's a great snowman!
ReplyDeleteOh, it looks so cute though!
ReplyDeleteHey Girl, it's Jess, I got this from your Facebook...I have a Blog too! Mine is mostly about our drunk times here in Savannah...it can be completely crude and offensive at times, but I hope you come by anyway! :) LOL!
ReplyDeleteLooks like all is well with you! Take care!!
I do miss seasons down here but wouldn't live anywhere else!
ReplyDeleteI have photos just like this!
That is too funny! I didn't see snow until I was in high school. I remember when I was around 4 I went outside to play with the ice that was frozen in the grass. That is all I had to play with. Nothing like snow!
