Fireproof

DH and I went to see Fireproof this afternoon. We went partially because we wanted to see a movie, but also because we felt like we should show support for a Christian film. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the film. Unlike other Christian movies that don't have believable acting or plots, this movie had both. The plot, while predictable, features a marriage relationship that is all too commonplace nowadays. The acting by all characters is good, with a mixture of humor and drama. As for the Christian message, the fundamentals are explained without being overly preachy. If you are looking for a wholesome movie that isn't animated, be sure to check this film out. One interesting note: the actor who plays the husband's dad in the film used to be the pastor of the church I attended when I was in preschool. His real-life wife also plays his wife in the film. It was neat to be able to see them again, but man - they sure look different after 20 years!

  1. We also saw it..and liked it...did you know the "kissing scene" was when Kirks real life wife stepped in...very good testimonies.

  2. Yes, I had heard about that before I even saw the movie. Kirk got some flak for that, but it's nice to see someone prioritize their marriage.
