Someone, somewhere, has taught my son manners. I know I didn't teach him any manners. For the past few days, he's been saying, "No thanks!" to questions. This is a marked improvement over his previous "NO!!" response, and his new reply can have comical results.
"Let's go brush teeth."
"No thanks!"
"Time for your nap."
"No thanks!"
"Eat your raisins."
"No thanks! O's?
and my favorite -
"You're going to get a spanking."
"No thanks!"
at this, I lost it and started laughing. I knew I shouldn't laugh, but I couldn't help myself. Needless to say, that spanking was averted.
*Note: I don't beat my kid; I give him one tap on his rump through a very thick diaper*
Funny! This reminds me of Bee. Once, when she was 2, my husband took her sledding down our hill, and it really freaked her out. He asked her if she wanted to go again, and she replied, "No, I don't care."
ReplyDeleteKids are so hilarious!
that's fine. The beatings can come later when he's older. Like say 4.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny when kids start saying something and you don't know why or where they heard it! I have an almost 15 month old so the talking is about to begin! I'm sure I'll have funny stories like yours to tell.
