S'FMtY: A Fashionable Christmas

In honor of the holiday season, I thought I would post this Christmas picture from third grade. As a child, my family opened presents on Christmas Eve, usually right before my bedtime. This explains the pj's that I am wearing, but WHY AM I WEARING TENNIS SHOES? I know my mother wouldn't have allowed me to go outside at night in the cold, and I always had house shoes. So why do I look like I am prepared to make a run for it? This is a mystery that will haunt me the rest of my days.

  1. I think you were going outside to catch Santa. That grin looks like you are up to SOMETHING!

  3. I agree - there was some agenda - you sure look happy, whatever it was!

  4. I don't know... I'm thinking those sneakers were on for something much more nefarious than sneaking a peek at Santa. Admit it - you were planning to sneak into other people's houses and steal the good gifts, weren't you? ;)

  5. Ok, miss Southern gal--"house shoes" is not a term we hear out west. My friends and family in Florida still have them AND call them that--as well as "house dresses!" I love it!
Second, yes, wearing shoes--weird. You took off your shoes, got undressed, put on pjs, and put your shoes back on?? Hmm.
Third, I, too, am a former teacher, staying home with my son now. I hated teaching--how 'bout you?? :)

  7. That is cute...sneakers and pjs, a new trend perhaps?
Was it hard to fall asleep after opening up all those presents?

  8. I agree that your grin looks like you have a plan. Too bad you can't remember it.

  9. After further analysis, I believe you are propped on what appears to be a BICYCLE box and you had your shoes on because your momma told you that you could not ride your new bike without shoes on!

    Ta-da!

  11. Such a cute smile! Did you go outside to sprinkle reindeer food possibly? My kids got a kick out of that last year.
